Molti di questi pezzi riguardano l’infanzia dell’autrice e le molte letture che ha incontrato nel corso del tempo della crescita (le fiabe\, Pinin Carpi\, I Quindici libri\, Garcia Lorca\, i giornaletti\, i fumetti eccetera). \nE c’è anche un bellissimo capitolo dedicato proprio a Venezia: “Peggy e il meraviglioso chiarore”\, pubblicato per la prima volta nel blog di Federico Novaro.\nIl racconto comincia così:\n«Palazzo Venier dei Leoni\, a Venezia\, si chiama anche il palazzo non finito. Fu iniziato nel 1748 e non si arrivò nemmeno al pianterreno. Le fondamenta\, tuttavia\, furono scavate così profondamente che il palazzo a fianco ne riportò danni strutturali irreparabili\, che portarono alla sua demolizione. Non si sa perché rimase incompiuto: forse finirono i soldi\, forse vi si opposero i Corner che abitavano di fronte e si irritavano all’idea di una magnificenza superiore alla propria.\nAnche il perché dei leoni del nome è ignoto. Si dice che nel giardino un tempo abitasse un leone. Più realisticamente pare derivi dalle teste di leone in pietra d’Istria che decorano la facciata al livello dell’acqua. I Corner con la tipica\, fiabesca stupidità dei potenti non si resero conto che il vero pericolo stava nello splendore di quel palazzo inesistente\, acceso da tutti i doni dell’invisibile. Un palazzo che non c’era\, con un giardino di pietre nel centro\, e sul canale bocche di leone a lambire le acque basse e alte. Un tipo di visione che ricorda il meraviglioso chiarore che accoglie Bella al suo arrivo nel castello di Bestia\, nella fiaba di Madame de Villeneuve.» \nVi aspettiamo!
